Orthodontics is a specialty that requires years of training beyond dental school, and board certification goes further still. It is voluntary, and it asks an orthodontist to demonstrate clinical judgment and results through a rigorous evaluation by their peers. Not every orthodontist pursues it. Dr. Ronnie did.
Her Approach to Treating Children
Dr. Ronnie believes orthodontics for kids should be built around the child, not just the teeth. In practice that means a few things. She explains what she sees in language parents can actually follow, without burying the answer in terminology. She recommends treatment when it is genuinely warranted and says so plainly when it is not, which is why many families who come in for an early evaluation leave with a plan to simply monitor. And she times treatment to work with a child’s natural growth rather than against it, because the right treatment at the wrong moment is harder on everyone and often takes longer.
Parents tend to notice the same thing after meeting her: she takes the time, and she does not push.

Treating children is a genuinely different skill from treating adults. Kids need explanations pitched to their age, appointments that respect how long a nine-year-old can sit still, and an environment where the dental chair is not something to dread. Teens need to be talked to directly rather than about, especially when treatment success depends on them wearing aligners or elastics without a parent standing over them.
Dr. Ronnie works alongside our pediatric dental team in an office built for exactly this, so a child who needs both a cleaning and an orthodontic check sees familiar faces in one familiar place.

Because Dr. Ronnie practices in the same office as our pediatric dentists, your child’s orthodontic care and general dental care stay coordinated without you having to manage it. Cleanings continue on schedule during braces. Cavities are treated before orthodontic treatment begins rather than discovered halfway through. Permanent teeth are monitored as they come in, so timing decisions are made with full information. Both teams work from the same records and talk to each other directly, which means you are not relaying messages between two offices.
